Mumbai: AK-56 rifle found from Dawood gang's house

The official claimed that AK 56 rifle had been in Khan's house for a long time. Nayeem Khan was arrested in the year 2016 by the Mumbai Crime Branch under Maharashtra organized crime control law.

Mumbai: An AK-56 rifle has been seized from the house of a member of the Dawood Ibrahim gang in suburb Goregaon, Mumbai. A senior officer of the Thane police said, "Dawood Ibrahim gang raided the house of Nayam Khan on Friday and after that his wife Yasmin Nayeem Khan was arrested." He told that Thane police's forcibly reprieve The unit (AEC) seized AK-56 rifle, 9-mm pistol, 13 cartridges from Khan's house. Two alleged drug smugglers, Zahid Shaukat Kashmiri (47) and Sanjay Shroff (47) were raided on Khan's house after interrogation. Both of them were arrested two days back from Nagpada in central Mumbai.

According to the official, he and some others allegedly conspired to murder Iqbal Atwalwala, a former gang member, at the instance of the absconding gangster Chhota Shakeel.

Comments Nayeem Khan is currently in Thane jail. According to the official, the AEC team is investigating Yasmin Khan and asking why he kept arms and ammunition in the house. He was presented in court on Saturday. The court sent him to police custody till July 11.
